    Problem opening files with ":"

From a DOS/CMD prompt, try to copy the file using a wildcard instead of the colon. For example: COPY ABC?EFG.EXT ABCDEFG.EXT

    Does anyone knows?

Environment variables are anything that is set in the environment. There isn't a "fixed" set of variables. Start->Help and select "Environment Variable" on the Index tab. This should provide the information you seek. WW

Configuring an HP d145 in a wireless (peer-to-peer) network

That's the way it is currently installed, as a local printer to a networked workstation and shared accordingly. That is NOT how I want it to be. I want to add a networked print server on the wireless network, which will allow the printer to be networked without having to be shared. As a...

Configuring an HP d145 in a wireless (peer-to-peer) network

No solution yet. Right now the d145 and the 3330 are both connected to a PC/print server that is on the wireless network. Unfortunately, this is the only simple way I see of making it work. WW

LaserJet 4500 will not print color

Is the latest postscript driver that you downloaded Win 95 compatible? Or is it for Windows 2K/XP? Make sure that the driver for the printer is OS correct, if it is OS specific. With older OS's, latest is not necessarily the greatest. :) WW

    HP color 4500 laserjet

Is there enough memory in the PC to fully render the picture? Also, is there enough memory in the printer to do likewise? Just a thought or two. WW

Is there a way to print 2 SHEETS in Excel?

You could always create a "dummy" sheet with links to the two graphs and then print the dummy sheet. There would be no need to update the dummy sheet as updating the graphs on the real sheets would be carried through to the dummy sheet because of the links. WW

    Removing LINKS from Favourites

Are you trying to delete the Links FOLDER? AFAIK, that folder will always be recreated as it is needed to maintain the "Links" links. Therefore, you cannot remove it from the Favorites list, but you can remove it from the menu bar.

    IE uses wrong network

I have a wired network connection to my Wireless Access Point Router (BEFW11S4 v2) from my primary desktop PC. Also, all the other PC's, including the primary, have a wireless network connection using Wireless USB Network Adapaters (WSUB11). Laptops connect using PCI cards (WPC11). Everything...

Are laser checks or dot matrix checks better?

The watermark process is simply a word document that was printed to the printer, but captured to a file (print to file was check when printing). Then all that is done is to copy the resulting printer file to the printer from a CMD window. Obviously, it can be done directly from Word as well or...

Creating a Ping batch file in Windows 2000 pro

Open up a cmd window and enter the ping command. What happens? Make sure PING is in your default path (%systemroot%\system32). WW

    Network Neighborhood - Empty?

Win2K allocates network connections "on demand". That is, unless a connection is used, it will eventually be disconnected. This is to save resources. It should not affect anything you are doing across the network, as the connection will be re-established when necessary. IF you go...
