I too am experiencing exactly the same problem. I have a 40G and I'm ghosting to 200G. The boot will only go to the point of showing the login screen but no users, shutdown option etc.
Does your original drive have multiple partitions? Mine has two, Win98 (which will boot fine after the clone)...
DMammone, thanks for the info... However can you be a bit more specific. I'm familiar with the protocols and bindings etc., but I'm not exactly following your thoughts.
What bindings would I disable? Each nic needs to be bound to the installed protocols I have.
Are you referring to some...
Yes these are static addresses. The 150.x subent has a gateway, dns and wins. The 10.x has NO gateway, dns and wins.
From the perspective of the 150.x subnet, I would like to hide the fact that the 10.x subnet even exists.
In a generic sense I have a machine with 2 nics. One is on the...
It seems that when a machine has dual nics it likes to share that fact with other machines. Here's my scenario:
I have a server, ServerA, with two nics. One with a 150.102.x.x address to the corporate network and one with a 10.x.x.x address for a private network.
When I map a drive to another...

When I want to move a client machine from one domain to another, should you go to a workgroup first? Or just go from domain to domain.
I like to do things orderly so I always go to a workgroup first and it's what I recommend but does it really matter?
Thanks.
I have a WinNT4 workstation (system1) that has two nics. Nic1 to the main coporate backbone and Nic2 (192.168 address) that is only for a local network. I have a drive mapped to another server (system2) via the corporate connection, nic1.
All is fine but eventually we start seeing the Nic2...

Paul,
Thanks for the info. I'll start looking into your suggestion and see if I can make that work for me.
Not famaliar with all that you mention but that's the best part, now I have a path and can dig for the solution.
Ok I'm new to the Perl world and have tried to figure this out on my own, and via surfing surfing the web. However now I'm hitting a deadline and need some help!
I'm running Windows 2000, and interogating NT4 and Win2000 boxes. I have written a perl program that goes out to remote machines...
Thanks for the replies...
I looked over the Microsoft docs, but I'm not so sure this applies to my configuration. Or am I not understanding it correctly.
My config as I mentioned in the original post is just on a local 192.168 subnet, with the addresses handed out from a Linksys gateway/router.
Would there be a problem adding a second nic to a machine (Window 2000 pro) and having both nics set for dhcp and both connected to the same gateway/router(i.e. dhcp server)?
When I do this I don't get any address on either one (well I get the 169.xxx). However if I put a fixed address on...
