    You may want to try Goverts tool; HPGL2DXF http://www.output.tmfweb.nl/ It is for HPGL/2 .PLT files but it is free. There is other great progs there too.

    You could also try the free PDF software out there, like PDF995: http://www.pdf995.com/index.html I have been using PDF 995 for 6 months now, works fine. Its quick, simple and produces good results. or for more versatility, but way more complex try Ghostscript/GSview...
