    SMDR on D1232 KSU watches serial DTR. One DTR is set, it will begin immediately dumping data as DCE at 9600 8N1. If this is not working, either you have SMDR disabled (system program 8xx), or you have a hardware fault. I suggest verifying serial cable's Rx GND and DTR pins.

    If the TVS50 is anything like the TVS200, all you need is a vt100 emulator, a serial cable, and a little patience. The manual helps, though.
