I've currently set the limit of outgoing and incoming email message sizes to 5 MB. I am frequently getting requests to up this limit. I'm hoping to get a discussion about what the general experience is in this regard. I've done a short search on google and found that the limits range from...

I figured it out. The missing user, as indicated, was in the GAL that was currently on the Exchange Servers. I was using Outlook 2003 in cached mode did not have the latest GAL. To download the current GAL go to Tools -> Send/Receive -> Download Address Book. My missing user showed up without...

    Missing entry in the GAL

I have one user (that I know of) that is missing from the GAL when viewed from the address book on an Outlook client. When using OWA I can search for this user. In Ex System Manager, Recipients, All Global Address Lists, I can do a preview and the missing user is there. Any ideas as to why it...

Application Event Log is "invisible" after installing Exchange SP3

Thanks for the advice...I think I just solved the same problem without the two reboots. Resetting the affected log files to their defaults and then clearing the logs also seems to have fixed the problem. wattsup

    FrontEnd Active Directory Auth. Question

The FE server will communicate to both. The FE server must be authenticated to the domain so a bunch of ports must be open. It will also have to be able to connect to the BE to display the mailbox contents. Check out this KB art: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q280132

Don't know if this will for sure meet your needs or not but you can hide a user from Exchange address lists by going to ADUC, properties of a user, Exchange Advanced tab, put a check in the "Hide from Exchange Address Lists" box. Good luck

    export GAL

That was the first place I went. When I select, in the console tree, the default global address list nothing shows up in the right window. Does it for anyone? When I right-click the default global address list I do have the option to "export list" but it just creates a text file...

    Exchange 2000 filtering

I found an Outlook addin from Cloudmark called SpamNet. I'm testing it on one machine now and and have found that it has caught most of the SPAM sent my way. It's a client side solution but so far it seems to work quite well. Find the download here: http://www.cloudmark.com/products/spamnet/...

    export GAL

I am trying to figure out a way to export the GAL in a text format (or any other format for that matter) but can't seem to find a nice way to do it. I've got a 2k domain with a password policy requiring password changes every 30 days. This works great for about 500 users but I have two users (configured exactly like everyone else in AD) that are forced to change their password daily. Every day they log on they get the "yor password...

Error checking names when confinguring outlook for Exchange Service

Open ESM, Go to Recipients, and select Rcipient Update Service. I have two entries here, an enterprise configuration and a domain config. If you right-click these and select properties you can verify and configure your exchange server and which DC is it pointing to. Watstup
