XP Pro - Using Keyboard Shortcuts sometimes hangs ~20 secs

Thanks, linney for pointing to my post elsewhere - For some reason I hadn't thought anyone else noticed this. For those not wanting to flip to other thread: -- and I am trying NOT to repeat what I said there, but net it out and add some more information. ;-) I think the answer is (1) design...

Obscure XP Shortcut key performance problem

I am a keyboard fan. I once attended a class and finished the lab in half time because I used the keyboard, not the mouse like the rest of the class, haha. XP supports keyboard shortcuts in your start menu, by going to properties and pressing a key, with ctrl-alt appended, so for example...

    Keyboard strokes cause mad behaviour

I find this kind of behavior a lot - and although you have found it to be hardware apparently I thought I'd expand on the "Stuck keys" idea. I use some atypical things like VMware, and SYNERGY which is a wonderful program to move your mouse off the main screen an on to another visible montitor...

Colors in PDF -- maybe yes, maybe no; also Acrobat vs Distiller

Thanks! I was surprised when I heard Kinkos would accept PDF as a "print format", I had only used it as a "store for browsing and searching" document format. But apparently some such as you are primarily interested in it as a print related product, and thanks SO much for the explanation! I...

Bad PDF capture from web page

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=37 When I click in the PDF capture icon in IE, Acrobat badly mis-renders the page in my 6.0... Any thoughts? I researched quite a bit and figured out what is wrong: At the top of the pages is a little pull-down box called "search" and...

Colors in PDF -- maybe yes, maybe no; also Acrobat vs Distiller

One of the other threads mentioned things created in Front Page don't have their colors transferred to a PDF. I noticed that also, particularly when converting presentations from Freelance (not very popular) to PDF (anyone can view it). I often got very muted or absent colors when doing so...

Saving Email to PDF: (1) Stretched Graphics; (2) Touchup

The graphic typically is an icon for an attachment, so I don't know what format it is. The time I had a large page stretch was the first large graphic that stretched. I was hoping I could replace it. If I click it with graphics and copy it is OK as I mentioned. Thanks for the 2nd comment...

    Searching with Acro Reader 6.*

Just a comment, before talking my employer into buying full acrobat standard for me, I purchased a very low end PDF producer, and what IT did was create a GRAPHIC for every page. This was useless to me, because I couldn't search for anything. That may have been what the creator of your PDFs...

Unix reports into pdf to serve over web

Pardon a "generic" sort of answer, but when you have a lot of data and a thin pipe over which to access it, the best "model" is a client-server model, one in which not the data, but only the part you are looking at, is transferred over the wire. Unfortunately I don't have a solution to hand you...

Saving Email to PDF: (1) Stretched Graphics; (2) Touchup

Hi. When I print from Lotus Notes to PDF (6), It works "fine" except sometimes - usually once per document - a graphic gets stretched about 10-fold up from its baseline, obscuring text, etc. If I go to the graphics selection tool, pick the graphic, and ask to put it to the clipboard, and...

Legato Co-Standby Server for Exchange clustering?

Greetings from the inventor of "Xmodem" & (w/Randy Suess), BBS's - celebrating its 25th anniversary February 16, 2003! A small customer (customer = I'd supply the 2nd server, not the services) has about a 2-year-old 633MHz server that is doing OK as an Exchange server. They want to...
