You will have to charge $10 to reset the passwords, then no matter how much beer and sex they have had they will remember.
Also I wouldn't like my password reset just because the star quarterback can't remember his password.
the easy way around this is to login on the windows 98 machines as the same name you login the xp machine - this is only the network login screen, this will not change the names of the machines. then if it asks for a password use the same one you login to the xp machine with (if you don't use...
Hi, have a windows xp machine I cant figure out, they have had it setup for a while, they then decided to add two extra accounts, then it got interesting, they are administrators, but they cant change anything, shortcuts, homepages, anything, it seems as if the registry has shut up shop - is...
if you go to user accounts in the control panel
go to advanced
to to manage passwords
and delete passport.net\*
this wont delete your passport, but will stop it on your comptuer, it will stop msn dailing up automatically.

did you disable apm in the power management in the bios,
check the device manager and see what computer has under it, it should be a standard computer.
if you reenable apm in the bios, sometimes it will fix the problem, but other times you have to reinstall windows xp to get it shutting down...
if you computer wont support booting off the cd, do you really want to install XP, 128mb of RAM is like 32MB of RAM in Windows 98. It makes 400mhz computer into a slow machine. It is good but very thirsty.
I have xp home on networked with a windows 2000 server (that can dual boot to 2000 pro) and I have a windows 98 machine.
I also do not have that log file, I use windows update on all machines, the xp one automatically updates.
Hang on I have the log file on the windows 2000 Server Machine. It...
You should also check the bios to see if the external and internal cache is enabled, Once I disabled the external cache for trouble shooting purposes on a customers computer and left it off by mistake, 6 months later they told me it was running slow (I was a bit red faced)
what ever you log on as in the xp machine (administrator or your name) you have to log on the same on the windows 98 computer.
so what you log on as when starting xp by clicking on the pictures, you have to use the same name when typing in the network login when starting the win98 machine
