Linney, Thank you. Your post set me in the right direction. I discovered that it was the hard drive. When the vendor was contacted they admitted they had gotten a bad batch of HDs. A new one is on the way. Hopefully all will install well.

I continue to get this installation error when installing a clean copy of Vista. I have deleted the partition, reformatted to no avail. Some of my research points to a bad hard drive. Looking to confirm this. It is a gateway md2614u laptop. Thanks all

Hello, When users go to access a secure site they get a "There is a problem with this website's security certificate". I add the site to the trusted sites list and install the certificate without a problem, but the error continues. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.
