disconnect or remove all non vital components,
all you need to get video is Motherboard, Processor, Videocard, Power Supply and Ram. then power try to power it up. also if that does not work re-assemble it out side the case, the motherboard could be shorting due to contact with the case...

make sure that there is not a print job pending from this machine. other wise it wont let you remove it if has a print job cached.

it sounds like the make file is corrupted. you may want to try downloading the file(s) again from another source and try it again. Or you missing something that make file needs. look at the read me files and check your dependancies

it depends,in the bios, there may be an option to disable onboard video. that is usually if the video is onboard and the system has an open agp slot. if it only has pci slots chances are you may be out of luck. what kind of computer is it.

the centrino processor may be marked at a slower megahertz but actually perform alot alot like the 2+GHZ processors because they have 1MB of cache on the processor, the reason that they dont mark them faster is because the dont want to Rip the AMD marking scheme. the core clock of a 1.2 centrino...

I would disable plug and play, and find the correct drivers manufacturer. Sometimes windows generic drivers dont work right.
