    E.g. I give my work to some rural printing company, without CTP, but paus papers and films, and so on. I make pdf directly from Indesign, and if there is no colour pictures in the document, I set Output/Colour/ to COMPOSITE GREY, and no text as black checked. Is that enough if all text is set...

But, unfortunately, it is for printing, and printers are 60 miles away from my office (no consultancy). They always have complaints to my job, because they want to do what I do, prepare doc for printing...

    100 tiff pictures embeded in .indd (390MB) same as 8 MB printed to pdf? I have 100 tiff pictures, color and greyscale, embeded in one file. File have 437 MB, but, when printing to pdf is finished, odf have only 8 MB!!! How can it be posiible? I don't use compression,(as I know) when set pdf...

    Pegasus, download and install ImpositionCompanion (free plugin) from www.rorohiko.com, and use it in your document. Advise: If you have 1500 pages, when starting with work on such huge document, place chapter by chapter with no text treads beetwen them. P.S. This is what I wrote to plugin maker...
