yeah i guess i could try it on my next troubleshooting problem... but i highly doubt it is going to work.. when i ping through the dos window, it cannot resolve ANY hostnames, but i can ping ip addresses, either before i reinstall tcp/ip and also after.. so therefore i think that it has...
i am the isp that is the thing... i work for a company, and i run into this problem at least 5 times a day, and there are no fixes for it... i am in the process of trying to dig a little deeper than just the standard fixes... i have tried all things standard, such as msconfig, winipcfg info...
i sure do understand that... and i am sad to report that my dns servers are disabled, and all obtained through the dhcp process; is there registry keys that can be changed to affect the DNS??
i have win98, with ie 5.5
i beleive it to be adware causing the problem, a program called tdak toolbar.... it takes the "internet options" in control panel as well as in the toolbar... i tried to uninstall the program, but i recieved it with "imesh" and the uninstall prog is...
i go into my control panel (windows 98) and the "internet options" icon is not there; also, when in internet exporer the "tools" option is now removed from the toolbar. does anyone have any idea on how to resolve this issue, or at least a start...
