I am going to take a wild guess at it and say that it is trying to run or start a program inside the mapped drive and do not know what program it should use to run that program.
Thanks,
Malik

I was having the same issue with w2k pro. I was shocked to find out that microsoft will not supply a patch for free for this os. I did a little research and came across a program that I have implemented on a couple of w2k workstations called intelliadmin. They created a free patch for w2k pro...
So the only way I am seeing is that you have to change w2k pro machines manually or by pushing it out with a script?

DaveToo,
I was getting ready to post about w2k pro dst fix because I could not find it at all. They kept on giving me kb931836 and I could not find the fix for 2000 machines. Even when you google it you get the KB931836 for winxp machines. Good looking out and I think I will take the slow road...

You know I agree with KJV that I would check to make sure it is using the onboard video and not the external video. You can usually switch between them with the one of the function keys.
You can also check in the bios to see what is the primary device. I would also try to boot into safe mode...
Great information!!! Greg that was awsome!!! I am thinking very hard about starting my own computer business dealing with small business networking and you hit a lot of little things that are always overlooked. One thing that I didnt know about was the error and omission insurance. That is one...
Also,
Make sure you have enough space on your harddrive to defrag. I think you need atleast 15% free minimum. If you have less you can still defrag but you might run into some problems and get errors.

If you do find sometype of virus and malware make sure you delete your old system restore points. I read that they can recreate itself from the system restore points somehow.
Hope that helps a little
