Is there any decent documentation on troubleshooting CDR pushes? I have about 30 BCMs with 22 working. The other 8 are set up exactly the same but will not transfer.

true, but If you have a user with a changed password that can't get to the network, it is an option. otherwise the cached password will continue to lock out his account
found a password fix for this, Log in using your old password and connect through VPN, log off but do not disconnect the VPN. when you log back in you can use your new password.
I checked both HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE both were dead.

seems a bit extreme for a fat finger . . .I think your best bet is to use the registry, it is designed not only for storage but you can add scripts as well
What you are seeing is the magnetic fields of those items as they get close to your monitor.
short term - as long as they are constantly changing, no they will do no damage, it justs look odd

Is this the only machine you log into? if you are logged into another machine, it will continue to poll using the original password and will lock you out, the same thing will happen if you are mapping to another drive using your credentials on anothers machine
you may actually have to use a hex editor to look at the FAT
and look specifically for the file name pattern that you can see. it looks like he used some hidden charactors when he named the folders. using the editor you can rename them to "AAAAAAAA" or some such. ***DANGER*** know...
btw there is a Sysinternals Process Explorer that tells you exactly what you application is accessing, makes it easier to troubleshoot
