I've had the same problem.
I take an old DOS machine, I buy 2 old paralell ports and now, I have on the same "printer server" 5 printers:
LPT1
LPT2
LPT3
COM2
COM3
How can we put it working?
We have a VPN
2 offices connected.
we can ping from one to the other and the reverse too.
But we cannot login with Novell.
I know that there is a way to encapsulate IPX on IP but I don't know how.
BRegards
Hi,
1st. -------------
I've a W2K Prof and a Red Hat Linux Server running Samba
In the W2k, if I click on Network Neighborhood/Near machines (I think that's the tranlation - Is a spanish machine) I only see mine. I can't see the Linux Server.
Anyway, if I type:
\\Linux\home
I can see it...
RH-Linux 8.0
W2K
W98
Samba server doesn't show up in network neighborhood.
I can browse from W2K or W98 (only in DOS mode)
From Linux, also.
If I do in W2K or W98
net use P: \\SambaServer\MyDir
I'll have P: on MyComputer, as a net disk
But never on network neighborhood.
I found it:

http://au1.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/Samba24Hc18.pdf doesn't exist on the net?
It becames working. The 1st mistake was that I had no smb users.
I get Samba 24Hc13 and...
with
nmblookup -A IPadress
Now I can see users and machines
with
nbtstat -A IPadress
I also can see all
with
net view \\SambaServer
I can see Shared Disk -- Home directory
