If its the same problem I'm experiencing they will login when you reboot them, doesn't fix the problem but is a tempory work arround.

This version of retrospect does not have the sql client and theres no chance of upgrading. I can't see how to add in an on start of backup run this script on completion run this script option to start and stop the server so I can back it up.

The problem is with your DNS setup.
Make sure your DC is a DNS server and its setup correctly.
Make sure your clients are using the ip of this server as their DNS server.
Use forwarers if nessessary.
