old CD shows up in explorer
Is there any way to remove XP's CD Burning software? I never use it as it is bugged and generally nasty. I prefer to use dedicated software such as nero. It would be interesting if one could remove this function from explorer to see if it improved matters.- Trd79

Unmountable Boot volume (& the rest)
I have been living happily with XP-Pro for the last month or two. However recently it has become more and more flaky, and today it coughed and died. My system crashed while Media Player attempted to play an audio CD (won't try that again!). Upon re-booting I was met with a familiar blue screen...- Trd79

I have also encountered several problems with my CD-Rewriter in windows XP. Sometimes, as you describe, it shows an old CD or an incorrect icon. Occasionally I lose functionality completely. The description changes from CD Writer to CD Drive, and I am unable to access any CD. The only solution...- Trd79
