I have been attempting to resolve an issue with a friends laptop which has 256MB RAM, 1.1Ghz P3 with Windows XP Home (SP1) installed along with Mcafee Security Centre v9.

I did forget to mention also that emails are also stored on the Windows XP server as the client machines are configured to use IMAP accounts. I'm thinking this is still the case that AV is still advised on the client machines ?

We are running a network comprising of Network Printers, Windows XP Pro Client Machines, a Windows XP Pro machine acting as a file, mail and internet gateway.

when attempting to relink the kernal, say with making a hardware change in 'scoadmin' the following message appears after attempting to relink the kernal.
exact message is :-
error updating space.c
error updating space.c
(repeated twice)
after this it asks if I wish to make this kernal boot...
Running SCO Openserver v5.0.4 and as the only way we connect to SCO is by using Telnet, the server is not used for anything else such as email can I disable the following services without causing problems :-
HTTPD ?
Calender Service ?
Any other normal services which you can suggest ?

Upon examing the etc/conf/space.c file I notice that there are a number of entries.
We are running Openserver v5.0.4 with an adaptec 2100S RAID card which has 2 drives configured by Adaptec hardware to RAID1, it also has a HP DAT drive and CD rom drive.
