Hi @ll
We'd like to configure a mail notification for the users with domain admin rights whenever
they use their account for login via Desktop, RDP or when they mount a drive.
This is for the case the credentials of one of these users got compromised.
We have several DC's, does anyone know if...
Hi dradhzn
the best solution for this is savepnpc that executes pre- and post commands for a specific backup job, i.e. stopping services before the backup and starting them right after.
This way you can be sure that the database services are down during the backup process.
Please find more...
Hi @ll
I'm really interested in this discussion, does anybody know if EMC² is planning to support Ubuntu or even Debian based systems officially somewhen soon ?
cheers Till
Thank you a060463xyz
These were some helpful ideas because we were in fact using hp drivers under Windows 2003.
The LTO's are SCSI and connected to a Fibre Card within a NEO 4000 Jukebox
It bugs me that LAN backups to these LTP's are much faster than from a AFTD..

Hi markdmac
I'm planning to implement EBS for a smaller customer too...
They're using SBS 2003 and we're planning the migration to EBS.
What are your experiences regarding the hardware sizing for this system i.e processor/memory/disks ?
Thanks in advance
cheers Till
Hi @ll
We're using a AFTD (on EMC² DMX) to back up slower file servers with many small files and use staging because the write speed would not be high enough for our LTO III drives.
Staging of the savesets however works fine but I am disappointed about the write performance to the LTO III...
Hi Lior
Sounds like this is hardware related. Have you tried to clean one of the drives to see if the behaviour is the same on all of them ?
Next to this I would check cabling/termination...
Please try to use the command line instead of the GUI to inventarise the volumes i.e
nsrjb -I -vvv -S...
Liorik,
guess you won't find preconfigured scripts that will work out of the box matching your environment and needs.
Just refer to the NMO admin guide and you will find a lot about RMAN in the Oracle Documentation or in Orcle's Metalink.

Hi
Well you should in fact be able to see the mailboxes in the recover GUI under Private Mailboxes.
Looking at your savesets I would say that you are backing up
a bit too much but I do not know your requirements of course.
The saveset MSEXCH:IS covers all Information Stores (i.e. Mailboxes...
Hi nelhajjar
Possibly your mailbox brick level backup was not completed yet and so you were not able to recover.
How many mailboxes do you have to back up ?
Depending on the mailbox size it does not make sense to backup more than some 20 mailboxes because it takes too long.
NW uses a mapi...
Hi Conultant
You will find a forum at https://powerlink.emc.com. Just a word about this migration, I completely agree with a060463xyz's statement.
This is really a difficult task and should be done by a experienced specialist.
cheers Till
Hi Joan
Well we get 9-12 Mb/s for just one saveset, sometimes it drops down to 4 or 5 Mb/s in case there are many small
files.
Here are some further hints for you, discussed in esg62557 :
Goal: Novell Performance Tuning
Fact: Novell
Fact: Networker client for NetWare

Hi Deepak
Well first of all you should be sure about the backup method first, VCB or native client backup.
The best way in my opinion is to use a so-called VCB Proxy
that is a Networker Storage Node at the same time.
This machine mounts the virtual machines for backup (in easy words).
