hey wil, i think you are referring to stroke - the variable width outline of an image or shape. to add the outline, you can do one of many things. first, select your target layer (if you have multiple images on that layer, select only the image you wish to affect with the marquee or lasso...

d, i just now figured out my mistake. i was placing the bg image in the cell w/o selecting the whole thing first (centered cursor only - not ctrl + a). i'm looking good again... thanks for the help & have a great day. kevo
