Have resolved the problem. It was caused by the degree of parallelism set for the backup group. When the number of streams hit our limit of 16 subsequent backups failed. The behaviour varied depending on what groups were set to 'skip' on a given day and obviously re-running the failed backup...- ThePotter

May be relevant, the failed backups are predominantly (but not exclusively) cluster resources.- ThePotter

Get this error sporadically. Often the automatic retry is successful and the backup completes. When it doesn't complete a re-run of the backup on the following day always succeeds. It is not consistently the same backup set within the client or indeed consistently the same client. There are no...- ThePotter
