    Starting a business

oharab definately hit the nail on the head when it comes to govt contracts. VERY Lucrative business, cut throat but money to be made. There are some big players but start small and work your way in. Most of the big players only bid on the large deals and let the small ones go. Half the time...

    Cisco 801 BRI to BRI

Another option can be found on ebay for isdn simulation. B-Link, and vConsole are pieces of equipment that come to mind. Go to ebay and do a search, actually here ya go... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3086308317&category=11185 they usually end up around $400.00 so good...

    Cisco 2610 intermittently power reset

Goldearth, Some things to think about/try. Are you using console logging? Buffers full? IS this router monitored to the point you know about when it reloads? How often is it happening? Are you using an external syslog server? Enable logging for the informational level, that way you get...

    Starting a business

Glen, Good luck with the new Career!! Lots of resources out there for starting a new business. DO NOT forget about searching the Government sites for ideas and or models. It sounds odd, going to the govt for help, but that is exactly who you have to deal with to start this endeavor and get...

CCNA book: Sybex or CISCO press?

I've used both. Sybex tries to make the material more interesting. Cisco has all the information within their books. The main difference is read the CisoPress books after taking the exam and your afternoon will be..."That was exactly on the exam, alright I got it right, Nope got that one...

    Lab Setup recommendations.

Wow, I wish I had your budget. Its good to have the 3xxx equipment as you will see this stuff on the exams. Keep on breaking your system, you learn more by breaking something and fixing than any other way ;-) CCNA vs CCNP. Before you can become a CCNP you have to have your CCNA license...

    Lab Setup recommendations.

http://www.ccie4u.com/study_guide.htm http://www.psexams.com/pages/ccielab.htm Check out the above sites. I've used them for ideas and places to start. What are you trying to learn? Are you going for CCNA, I hope not with that lab as it would be overkill, CCNP, or CCIE? CCSP is out of...

    Router IOS

My 2 cents on the whole thing is this. Make sure what ever it is you buy can handle the ios you are planning to put on it. The generic cover on cisco equipment is common but indicates older equipment. when cisco was buying up the competition at a fast clip the only way to tell if it was cisco...

    Serial clockrate question

I cant remember on any cisco exam where I had to apply a clock rate to an interface, it was always supplied. You have to know which interface requires the clock rate and what the command looks like, etc...How this applies to real world? Most providers will control the clock rate from their end...

    CCNP question

dogbert2, Yeah I saw that part of the site but to the non-technical type it really doesnt mean much. I was hoping for a fairly consise format, almost a job description of a CCNP. Well, it looks like I'll just have to gin one up using both CCO and the CCNP books. Thanks for looking. thek25...

    CCNP question

Ok, I am very much stumped. I have a boss who comes from a Telecom background/world and really knows nothing about networks. Not a bad boss, I am just trying to educate him. He does not understand what a CCNP knows or is capable of doing. I've perused through CCO trying to locate a consise...
