I failed 70-294 yesterday. [sadeyes]
My fault as I didn't study enough and instead of doing last minute revision over the weekend I spent the weekend drinking with friends instead [shadessad] [thumbsdown]
Anyway I got 491 but I think I shouldn't have taken it yet as I haven't had much...
Hi
I just scraped through 70-293 with 740 last week after a couple of years of taking no exams after completing my MCSA.
Found the test quite hard only using the MS Book to study from and also an Exam Cram book, alot of the stuff on this exam I don't use at work (clustering etc) as our...
Hi I am UK based and have just recently completed my MCSA my next exam to take is the 70-293 which counts towards an MCSE.
70-291 and 70-293 both count towards MCDBA meaning that after passing 70-293 passing the two SQL exams would give me MCDBA.
I didnt spend much money passing my MCSA paying...
Hi I also found a lack of materials for the SK0-002 server+ exam but relied on the Sybex SK0-001 study guide and Server+ Certification Bible by Trevor Kay. I looked at the exam objectives for SK0-002 and compared them to the exam objectives laid out in the Sybex book. That helped me to fill...
Thats exactly what I mean, maybe not Vista then but Microsofts next server OS release after Vista. I take it they are releasing one although most of the changes between XP and Vista are graphical apart from them changing the location and name nearly everything we have come to be familer with ;)...
Its good to hear that they are intending to create upgrade exams. I am thinking of doing MCDBA SQL Server 2000 after I have completed my MCSE because alot of my MCSE exams will count towards it meaning I will only need to take the SQL exams.
Will be great to be able to upgrade to Vista...
I have read about the new MCP tracks MCTS and MCITP etc but am wondering if there is going to be a new set of MCSA/MCSE exams for Vista when it is finally released or if they are going to be retiring the MCSE and replacing it with something new?
I mean does it look like theres going to be an...
Hi that does make a lot of sense to understand the granular details before taking an exam that looks at design. Are you having trouble getting past 70-294 then, are you finding it a hard exam?
For me I think that one will have me relying on a VMware lab since I don’t have much real life...
Hi Wishdiak thanks for the advice :)
Have you passed 298 yet? Can you offer any insights into these two exams, are they like the 70-291 and 70-293 in that they are best studied consecutively?
I think I might try for 299 and then 298 after 293 and try to get the security requirements out of...
>>>Read the planner again. You need 298 or 299, not both (unless you are using one of them for your MCSE elective and the other for the security requirment).<<<
Thats what I thought but when I look at the planner it says.
Security Specialisation *ALL
Under that there is 298 in a sub folder...
Ok looking at my certification planner I could take 70-299 and upgrade my MCSA to MCSA Security. This would be good because it would also count towards MCSE Security when the time comes.
I could also take 70-284 Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and become MCSA...
I used either A+ and Network+, A+ and Server+ or Security+ for my ellective. :)
They are all ticked on my certification planner.
The Certification Planner also shows that I only need 4 more exams for MCSE Security 70-293, 70-294, 70-298 and 70-299.
Security+ is a good cert to have when going...
I was really shaking in my boots going in for this one as everyone was making it out as being very very hard.
At first the exam did seem very hard, 20% through the exam I was certain I was going to fail as all the questions were on SUS something that I hadnt studied in enough detail. Also long...
Hi I am not so sure if you are correct.
Just found this site
http://www.networktraining.de/microsoft/MCSAS2003_600.gif
Thats for MCSA Security and looks similar to the MCP cert.
The lots of images here.

I have my last exam for MCSA 2003 Server next week.
70-291 I hear its quite a hard one but have been studying from the Sybex and Blue MS book.
Anyway my MCP certificate looks very bland, TBH the cert itself is of the same quality of a piece of junk mail and I think the transcript looks better...
