I just set up a 2003 server and it was mindboggling. Check to see if you set permissions on the security tab of the share folder. Permissions must be set two places on the share folder - on the share tab and the security tab. Let me know if it works. [pc3]

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I forgot about the "full data users" group they were members of. I deleted the rights of the FDU and it solved the problem. Sometimes it is good when you really want an answer fast. It makes you work harder in finding a solution.
You did not state where it was being exported to. If you are exporting to Excel, Excel always drops off the leading zero's. What you can try is putting an apostrophe at the beginning of the value before exporting.
