my suggestion ....use firefox and netscape instead..your problem will gone....

your right t2data..dnt use microsoft it's not safe and so expensive....use firefox or netscape instead.!!!!!!

i agree with chrisac..you cn stil setup proxy seer with ur current setup..use squid..it's good..proxy will increase speed of ur client when they are browsing.... try to read and research how to do it...

you were attack by a spammer that's what they do....so pls read about spam on how to protect ur pc and ur resources...i suggest that you reformat first your hdisk...and before you restore ur files install first a good antivirus that will scan all ur files to verify that there's no worm...

sometimes it happen if you are using a pirated softwares from microsoft....try to install mozilla in replace to ur intrnet explorer..and install thnderbird in replace of ur outlook express..or if you have a webmail use it first for isolation...

believe me, the culprit is your antivirus..uninstall it first..and test it agen....

what is impt abt the contract is the bandwidth that you are subscribing...ask also if they will provide you the mrtg..it's a graphing tool that will tell you how much speed that you are consuming and they are giving...

ask for the mrtg..it's a graph that will tell you how much speed that you are getting... 2nd monitor ur network..for hacking activity, some of the hackers can use ur bndwidth...

traffic shaping only applies if you have a cir ..for example if you have 1024kbps you can divide it by number of routers or users equally...in ur case you have no cir, only port speed.how could you apply the traffic shaper...

it's very hard to think that u r subscibing to an isp with cir=0, as stated above it's partially true that they dnt need to offer cir bcause they have enough bandwidth to support their customer, but how would you know if they are not oversubscribed!, in a frame cloud, it's a shared technology...
