    I am using a 1605 router.I upgraded my cisco IOS to verion 12.2(17) when the router reboots I get this: %SYS-4-CONFIG_NEWER: Configuration from version 12.2 may not be correctly understood what does this mean?

    Another thing is, companies are beginning to use VPN's to connect each other instead of using frame relay. I just don't the big picture, why would they do that?

    Hi..got it fixed. thanks. the problem was with my wiring configuration and with a setting on my LAN NIC- apparantly i don't need to enter a default gateway on my internal NIC.

    Is frame relay cheaper, more reliable, more efficient then getting a ADSL business package. As mentioned above I can get that business package for $150 /month. Do get frame relay services from an ISP?

    What is the main reason to go with frame relay, ATM, X.25. I understand that its used to connect sites together(WAN). But why not go with ADSL. I can get a ADSL business package with 5 static IP addresses, 15 GB/month Internet connection traffic, (10 GB/month down, 5 GB/month up.

    Hi.. it seems like we are doing exactly the same thing. Im using a 1605 router though. Hear is the link thread557-684044 adding this comment: access-list 1 remark used for nat I noticed you are using RIP ver 2. Do you need that statement for the internal LAN to get out?
