What version of the IOS are you using? It could be a bug.
I had a switch that could not stop rebooting......

You can do it from a CAT3550, that is creating increments of 8Kbps
For the 2950 switch, the only available QOS limiting possible is multiples of 1M from 1M-100M with burst sizes or 4K - 64K
128K-512K is only for gigabit ports.
rate limiting is not supported on the CAT3550 but you can do that...
Very funny about the english remark.......:( You have to understand that it is my 3rd language, and not 1st.
I can see that you are a big cisco fan.
I did set it to 5Mbps but i still get around 2.6Mbps
If you can help me get this working, i would really appreciate it.
My switch is a 2950T-24...
This is exactly what i need to do.
Were you able to make it work.
I configured exactly as what was stated in the QOS mannual. However, when i tested it with 4Mbps, all it allows is 2.6Mbps.
Cisco is full of crap

I have a Cisco 2651XM router with a Channelized T1/E1 card for my ISDN PRI. I need to figure out how to accept incoming calls from BRI and assign them to a specific dialer profile. The reason being i would like each site with a BRI to have a specific Dialer Map. Do u guys have any idea how to go...
Greetings Cisco Gurus
I am a bit of a newbie to the Cisco world so i wuld greatly appreciate any help you may offer.
We recently installed new 2950T-24 switches into our LAN so that we could do VLans.
However, we still have some older 2950-24 switches, (Ones without Gigabit Uplinks) used...
When we changed the switches over, we didn't touch the servers, so i am not sure why this would be the problem.
It worked fine with the old settings when we were using the old netgear ones.

Thanks mate for your reply,
We have set all the ports to 100MB at full duplex.
The IOS we arre running is 12.1(13)EA1a which was the version that the switch was shipped with.
Will check on the CCO for any caveats.

Thanks mate for the help
But i have already configured the relay agent.
I was wondering if the switch itself could act as a DHCP SERVER
Can it?

I have just recently acquired a Cisco Catalyst 3550 series switch for our LAN backbone.
From the IOS CLI. i could see that the switch not only acted as a DHCP relay agent but also a DHCP server.
Would anybody be kind enough to show me resourses on how to configure this switch as a DHCP server...
Our config is like so: -
Cisco 3550 - does interVlan Routing
Cisco 2950T-24 - has Vlans assigned to particular ports
Now we have two racks (servers inside) that are both on Vlan 2. The two uplink ports have been assigned to VLAN2. Now when we do backups (rack 1 to rack 2), the through put...
I typed in this command u mentioned but the following error kept coming up from the console.
unable to sent UDP on port 161?
What is that all about?
