The procedure is tedious - but you can reset all of the system passwords to default via the RS-232 port on the back of the IP Office. You will need a laptop with a real serial port and HyperTerminal. There is a work note on the procedure at...
Got the answer from Mike at Telquest, Int'l and also TouchToneTommy. You have to press Hold with the handset in the cradle and dial the system password, then touch an idle line button, pick up the handset and make your call.

Thanks TouchToneTommy. I had the same advice from Mike at Telquest, Int'l - and it worked like a charm! Interesting that Avaya left it out of all the BASIC version Telephone User Guides.

Have an IPO in BASIC mode that uses a system password to set Night Service. They also have a number of extensions in the Night Service Group. In order to make an external call from an extension in the Night Service Group you are required to enter the system password. Unfortunately there are...
Found the answer. I had to delete the lines from each of the extensions that needed a different line ringing mode - and save the configuration - then had to reprogram the lines in the correct ringing mode and save the configuration. Hopes this helps someone else with the same issue.

When a system password is used to set Night Service and there are several extensions in the Night Service Group - you are required to "enter" the system password before you can make an external call. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the manuals about HOW to enter the system password - so you...
Has anyone run into this issue? Basic mode R9.1.7 system. Cannot change line ringing from immediate to no ring and have it work on any extension. Tried setting the lines to delayed ring - saved config. Reprogrammed to no ring - saved config. Tested - they still ring immediately. Tried a...
Thanks for the responses. Thank you AACon for checking out all possible auto park options - so I didn't have to waste my time experimenting. Thank you TouchTone Tommy for a point-by-point lesson on setting up a possible option. We had tried a similar option with overflow to an empty hunt...
Customer is a busy restaurant that had a Partner system with ASA. They want to replicate what they had for incoming call handling. Tried putting them in PBX mode. Initial incoming calls were routed calls to a hunt group with several extensions as members. Set-up overflow after 15 seconds to...
No - I am not using "User Credentials" (SIP tab) in the User set-up. I just can't figure out why the dummy extension cannot be dialed internally. It makes no sense at all to me.

Tried it with "Create an H323 extension" and using "None" for the dummy user. Did not make any difference. As soon as you set unconditional forwarding "on" to the short code - the dummy extension can no longer be dialed.
I wish there was another way for this customer to forward all incoming...
Customer has Nextiva SIP trunk which works fine. Trying to forward after-hour calls to their answering service. Set-up a short code (#101) to access SIP ARS and dial the answering service number. Tested dialing the short code internally - and it works fine.
However, when I set-up a dummy user...
Telecomboy: I can see that you can program one of the 8 buttons for Call Park (but I was told this button function does not work). I do not see any option for programming a Call Unpark button. Maybe the 2012 User guide is out-of-date? The system in question is at release 9.0.4

Is there an easier way to place a "live" call on a DF160 portable in Park Slot 1 - other than the following:
Create a shortcode - say 301 - to Park a call in Park Slot 1.
On the D160 while on a "live" call - press More, Trsfr, 301, Trnsfr, YES - to Consult - then hang-up.
It seems like a very...
