    New Job and Certifications

@Ken I think any good employer will regard experience in lieu of certs. It depends on the employer an their viewpoint. I have been excluded from consideration for jobs for not having certs. But, I always regarded those employers as not really worth pursuing. I think you'll be fine as long as...

    New Job and Certifications

@Greg Good point about the Master's. However, know a few people with advanced degrees. That doesn't mean they are capable at the job. My experience is that the more advanced the degree, the more theoretical the knowledge becomes. Tom

    New Job and Certifications

Not necessarily. Certifications can help if you are looking for an entry level position. You can describe how your experience is equivalent to certifications. One thing certifications mean is that you are good at studying for the exams. It doesn't guarantee knowledge nor skill. OTOH...

Disabling double click event of a button

I have VS2010 and there is a double click event for buttons. The double click event never fires because the click event is fired. So the Pandas go home after their shift? Do they get breaks? Lunch? What is the pay scale? Do they have a union? UPW (United Panda Workers)? Maybe a lot of pandas got sick. Maybe there was a pandaemic. Tom

    Memo writing

I don't see too many memos anymore. The one's I get are always email attachments. They seem to be written well. I see the communications skills in business changing because younger people grew up on texting. Texting uses a type of shorthand. I think that may be influencing business writing...

    Windows 7 Search

The one thing that works for me is to search from the start menu and not from a folder in explorer. Searching from the start menu searches the entire system. Searching from explorer limits the search to the folder. One thing that really bugs me is searching inside files works sporadically. Tom

    The missing .01 (rounding time)

Is the rounding happening on screens and reports? If so, that is the nature of the time and attendance beast. My users know the rounding exits and they deal with it. As long as the app is saving the raw time in minutes, the data should be OK when it transfers to payroll, which is what really...
