Xerox should cover this. I'm a service provider for Xerox on these printers, and the last one I did that had this problem, although it was back in January, Xerox sent the parts to us at no charge, and gave us labor reimbursement.
Rather than calling Xerox directly, call someone that does...
I suspect that your printer is printing the address information, it's most likely that your print is not alligned correctly to actually lay the toner on the envelope.
First, I would start by loading a regular 8.5x11 piece of paper and trying to print the envelope. Basically, you're pretending...
I've also not heard of anyone manufacturing wax and duplicating the coping of the boxes to fool people into thinking they are buying genuine.
I am a reseller for these printers, and supplies. I've checked my stock, and all of mine have a rectangular silver hologram label that reads Xerox in...
You should be good for quite a long time. The problem originally was in regards to the rubber HP used for these pads. The gray color pads, probably the one you removed, would get hard and glazed. The new pads, are brown in color, and do not suffer the same hardening, and glazing effect.
DM is refering to the Drum Maintanence Clutch. Most likely, you have the old style clutch. If you refer to another post of mine located at
http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1207309&page=1
And refer to the section where I talk about the differences between the new and old style...
Not that I have a problem with someone selling a kit to fix this issue, but I've resolved this problem MANY times with the help of a small piece of scotch tape, or any tape of your choosing, or availability.
To sum up the problem, there is a solenoid on the registration assembly. There is a...
Rather than reposting, I've seen this problem before and it's typically associated with the Transfix roller solenoid. If you look at another one of my posts at
http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1207309&page=1
And read down to where I talk about the Transfix solenoid being sticky.
Well, since you mentioned the left side of the printer, I would start by checking the Drum Maintanence clutch. Fisd out if yours is the earlier single piece design, or the newer two piece design. I've seen some odd things happen when the earlier clutch fails.
As you take off the left side...
Actually if you take out the toner cartridge you will notice two clear windows, and you'll be able to see toner in these windows. Basically, the printer tries to shine a light through one window, and it reads how much light gets through the second window. The more light that gets through, the...
Out of curiousity, have you tried doing a cold reset? I have seen many of times where a printer looks to be set right, but wants to do something else. Usually a cold reset will resolve this. Basically, it returns the printer to its factory settings. I would suggest removing the JetDirect...
My recommendation on a router is based on it's ability to issue IP addresses, and place you on the 192.168.x.x IP address range. It would simplify IP configurations on both the PC's & Macs. Although, the printer, should have a static IP address outside what is being issued by the router.
The...
Got a question. During the warm up period, if you look in the vents on the ride side cover, you should see a lamp lighting. Take a look, and see if the lamps are actually turning on. I have seen a few of these printers do a boot loop because of bad lamps.
Actually, a Router would be much perfered even over a switch.
A Router will assign IP addesses as well as offer point to point communincations to all devices.
A Switch will only offer point to point communications to all devices, but will not assign IP Addressing.
Hubs are broadcast...
