I've got a table that i use for loading data into the main database, as thus its cleared down after each load, and i need to reset the serial counter field.

Its looking more and more like all the problems im getting are down to somthing wrong with the disk. not bad enough to show up on a verify but bad enough to corrupt things. if i try and access the one file it brings the server down everytime...

The machine had been rebooted several times since the install,service pack and migration. and had been running for about 24 hours since the last reboot.

It was a migration. I installed ne65 then the service pack then did the migration. ( from nw5)
the new migrated server has been running for about a week.
then started giving problems yesterday
Interestingly I just disabled the logins as i was going to call it a day and wait untill all the existing users had logged out. then on a whim i enabled logins, and low and behold i can log back in and all the drive mappings come back ?
any comments ?
Im not sure if this is related to be possible disk problem, the fact we're on sp5 or somthing else, but anyone else come across this.

there are 2 disks on the server at the mo, and all the data is on the second disk thats ok.
the disks are on a backplane, so i can quickly slam another one in.
is there an easy way to transfer the boot partition and the sys volume ( plus the empty data volume) onto an new disk?

Well I've managed to get around it in the end, I disabled nmas on the server by moving the nmas.nlm from the gui and rebooting. That let me log in fine. I've updated the licences vi nwadmin (i've not yet tired putting nmas.nlm back but i dint think i need it )

How do i turn off nmas authentication.
if i go into nmas on the advanced tab all i can do is select
nds or <default> as the sequence rather than turn it off. selecting either nds or default gives an error (different) when i try and log in.
if i select the sequence button i get a no sequences...
