The Nero was an old one, I believe Nero 5. The drive is new. I think that may be the problem. Will try what you recommended. I'll find a new version of Nero, and see how that works out. Thanks for your replies. was helpful. Tam

Problem solved. Luckly it wasn't as serious as grenage thought. All I did was to disconnect the secondary hard drive, switch the PC on, and once it boots up, shut down and connect the secondary drive on again. Don't have a clue what caused the problem but I think I'l consider myself lucky on...
