You have to create the mailbox from the server running Exchange in AD users and computers, there the exchange tasks are in full mode... do not create a user from another server if you wish to also create a mailbox. tony

I had this same problem and I turned off the ndr's and other notifications to the internet, restarted the services (most people forget to do this) and my problem was resolved this way.
