OK, I called HP and there is a problem w/ the firmware on the HP Laserjet 2300. The fix is to remove exising drivers and use the HP Laserjet 2200 drivers. I did so and installed the PCL 6 drivers and no problem printing. However there is still a lingering problem unassociated w/ the print...
It's an HP Laserjet 2300, The driver is PCL 5e, there is a PCL 6 driver available however. Do you think if it's a driver issue it could cause the print spooler service to terminate?

We have a ts client at a satellite location connecting through a vpn connection. print jobs print, and when looking on the server they show printed but the jobs don't get deleted from the queue. later on i'll check the printer folder and there is 50 docs in there. They again print as a batch...
