Thank you both and as with anything in IT there are always many ways to perform the same task. Knowledge and skills (most) improve with time.
SV-> You're right regarding versions & should remember having done support. Regarding LOJ, from the user's guide I read it as "include those...
Hi,
Is there a way to create a conditional LOJ? I know the joins reside in Visual Linking. I have the following parent / child relationship and want all parent records but don't want all the children records (only those with Fieldb = '2') Ex.
P.Fielda C.Fielda C.Fieldb...
K,
Basically that while they do indeed have the MonthToDate, etc. and they can easily be used in the record selections, it would be great to be able to easily prompt for them and use directly. (instead of having to convert using DateTime)
Your example hits the mark. I've already added it to...
Thanks K / synapesvampire.
Unfortunate CR doesn't do this for you given their MTD, YTD, other ranges. That will come with dynamic pull downs for parameters.
thanks again
Hi,
Is there anyway to prompt for MTD/YTD (and others in the list)? I keep seeming to come up with issues. I can't enter MTD/YTD in a date range parameter but if I create a string parmameter I am unable to use it against the db date field in the record selection. (eventually I'd love to add...
I'm editing some reports and would like to know if there is an easy way(say similar to Excel) to insert lines. Say 35-30 existing lines and I'd like to insert(add) a new line/fields to the report at the second line. We're on Crystal 7.
Thanks
My suggestion would be to lean toward Variables as mentioned by Ken. Depending on your version of Crystal, remember your variable's scope - (Global and Shared) and usage of WhilePrintingRecords in your formulas.
Mannga,
I have a question (sorry, no suggestion).
What or where does your function reside? Is it in Crystal, if so where, or is it outside Crystal ie. VB, etc.
We're trying to automate a group of reports to automatically export to Excel, which point we'd rename and save elsewhere.
Thanks...
Both ideas-EvaluateAfter and WhileReadingRecords -worked. Still working on Detail a/b to work properly.
Interestingly, I found that if I made all variables Global, I needed WhileREADINGRecords not WhilePrintingRecords in my formulas to work correctly. (we're in CR7 if it matters).
Thanks for...
When are Shared Variables available and how does this tie with their usage in Formulas? It appears they aren't available until AFTER the detail section line prints. Can this be changed to DURING the detail section line processes? I'll try to explain:
I have a formula in which I calculate...
Hi,
We are running Crystal 7 and do not see Datediff. Is it only available in later versions? The editor recognizes Date but not Datediff. Nothing on Datediff (nor dateadd) in Help.
Is there a good routine for calculating date differences in Months? I found a lot similar items in Keyword...
Ido,
We are performing this manually via Crystal Report. They bring up the report, refresh, then click the Export button (or file/print/export). It is here that we get the window No export DLLs found. I have followed up in Crystal decision and see that we have the U2d*. & U2f* DLLs in WinNT...
Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a licensing issue with using EXPORT in the WTS environment? We're using Crystal 7 and cannot Export (we get No DLLs Error) a report in the WTS environment. We are fine Exporting the same reports when we attach directly thru the network. Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi,
Depending on your background in IT and client server environments: CR for Dummies has broad coverage and exposure but doesn't get into great depth or example. Probably worth price of a coffee and scanning at B&N. A great source I found was the actually the manual which comes with the CD...
Is it possible to obtain an ODBC driver from the IMS or a 3rd party vendor? I'm don't know much about IMS. Also, try searching on GOOGLE, AskJeeves, etc. for info.
