Apologies for the delay. Our AD environment only uses one domain and we only have the one Exchange server.
If this is not possible I will just have to change the Exchange server to route all mail direct to the internet - at the moment it is configured to route everything through the smart...

I have tried setting it up the way you suggested, but when creating up my additional SMTP connector it only seems to get used if I put the domain of the person I am sending TO in the address space, which would lead me to believe it is routing the messages dependant on the recipients...
