I would check to see if you are scanning the M:\ drive with your AV software, this can cause calendar corruption. Also do not attempt to backup the M:\ drive.

Sounds like you need to move up to enterprise edition Exchange or get users to start archiving mail and impose limits.

Make sure that you are not scanning or backing up the M:\ drive. This is a classic symptom.
