I have a network of 8 W2K servers and about 400 2K/XP workstations. I'm having an slowly increasing problem where if I have to stop a service it will not start up again until I retype the username and password of the account used to start the service. Sometimes the service will not restart...
I need to stop users using either the colon or backslash characters in the 'open' or 'save as' filename field in office applications to prevent users browsing the network using local and UNC paths. Everywhere else is locked down sweet.
Anyone any ideas?

BTW My workstations are all named by room eg. E9_01, J14_37 etc...
