To be honest I have nothing. My scripting experience is VERY limited. I have tried downloading a couple of scripts but nothing has done what I needed it to do.
ANy ideas, would downloading SP1 and installing 'overwrite' the problem and leave the laptop working?
I really do not want to re-install this laptop as it a LOT ofr stuff on it (none that affect vista updates tho :-))
I am full domain admin, with full local rights.
Tried manually installing the failed update, did not work. Have not manually installed SP1 as saw ona couple of sites notices that it could corrupt if there were failed driver installs
I have a user who has had an issue for 6-8 months but has only told me now!!

They cannot install any updates. The notification icon is in the task tray but when you hover it says "Windows can't check for updates". If you go on and ask it to check, it returns an error...

I can login as the users no problem and I know the admin password to the PCs, what I not able to do is change the desktops and scrennsavers for the users with mandatory (local) profiles.

We have a number of stand alone XP pro machines that have had local users setup with Mandatory profiles. The person that did this has left the company and left no info at all.
I need to change the desktop and screensavers on the machines for these local users but then still have them...

Is it possible to have excel configured so that when a spreadsheet is printed it will include a header (in this case the filename) by default, without having to go into each file and setting this up?
