Thanks for the tip, but it appears that firmware 1.09 is the last version for the internal DI-30. So my problem is more likely associated with the Veritas/STOMP software.
I'm going to remove the DI-30 from the system and replace it with a DVDR/W.

Yes. And also updated the STOMP BKUMYPC to version 5.0 from 4.81. Tried again with tape. So I wonder if it is firmware for the DI-30. Any other ideas? apprciate any thoughts. thanks for the reply.
I was amazed to learn today that ONSTREAM was kaput! Recently I tried to backup my winME boot partition using STOMP BackUp My PC, which allows selection of the the DI-30 as a storage medium. Everything ran fine until the very end when it said that the media was corrupt. So 4 hours of wasted...
