You need to set the port on the cisco that is cascaded with the 3com as a "default" port and not a desktop port. On my 2950's I do this through the web interface (make sure the port is marked as a grey square and not with a picture of a PC on it)

Thanks vipergg. I have done as you suggested and assigned the correct IP and subnet mask to interface VLAN 1. I forgot to mention we have 2 subnets here.. 201.44.144.x and 201.44.100.x, how do I go about setting the default router on this thing? I am still unable to connect to the switch over...
