Thank you - I was worried about system file overwrite during the installation. I'll take your advice about the Office 2003 trial, and I've installed AVG anti-virus (free version), and ZoneAlarm (after disabling the XP firewall). I'm still having issues with Explorer locking the desktop on a...
I just got a new computer with XP Pro, Service Pack 2, and was wondering if I can install Office 2000 without issues. Are there any problems I'm likely to encounter?
Thanks in advance!
Never mind - I found a solution in a post that was being submitted as I wrote the original question.
I simply inserted a cross tab based on the PREMISES field... duh! Nothing like trying to kill an ant with a sledge hammer. Don't know what I was thinking!!
Platform: CR 9 on WIN2K reading an Access database.
Question: I've created a standard report and want to display a count of values for one field in the footer. The field (PREMISES in table 1 CRIME) can contain any string value, i.e., ALLEY, STREET, PARKING LOT, etc. The string values are not...

ETID - Sorry... I'm using Word 2000
Fumei - I'm not a Word power user, but am proficient in Access, and am not familiar with the controls available to Word and how to use them. I can muddle around until either I get frustrated or, perhaps you mifgt have an example of how to use an ActiveX...

I've created a form with a one cell table on the left portion of the page containing fill-in text boxes, and a frame to the right of the table where a mugshot photo is placed. As it stands now, the form must be unlocked in order to replace the photo, then locked again to fill in...

Yeah, I did find a solution - install ALL the database drivers using an admin account... the default install doesn't always install all the necessary files. Simple as that! Now, if I can only get the Repository functioning??!!

Thanks for looking into this SG...
the file resides in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin on all the installations we have on various computers. One additional avenue I am approaching is that of the original installation procedure. Our IT folks insist on performing all...
I use the formula for the page numbers for reasons iterated numerous times here on these Crystal forums, but that's only a symptom - things don't change if I do use the PageNofM special field. The system still fires up the installer and ends with the missing DB driver message as before. Odd...
I have a report which I develop and then share with other users in the same department. I design the report and then ship it to the other users via e-mail. Upon receiving the report, the database is verified prior to print previewing or refreshing the report. It's then when things get a bit...
Thanks Chelseatech! Very heads-up information, and applicable, as our IT folks seem to let more than a few apps run as services 'cuz it's easier than weeding out unnecessary processes. After I examined the Services applet, I realized that your advice is right on the money, and probably saved me...
