    MCSD/MCDBA or Masters?

Good point Cajun... LOL! I would also like to point out that even though 25% getting a Bachelor's attain a Master's, which may sound high, please think of the fact that only about 35% who go to college ever graduate with a Bachelor's (last figures I knew).

    MCSD/MCDBA or Masters?

How can a Master's be a "dime a dozen?" when only 25% who receive a Bachelor's degree go on to get a Master's? And only 10% who receive a Master's go on to get a PhD.

    MBA w/ MIS Concentration

"Are they considered equal?" Not in any way, shape or form! And as stated, if you want to get into management and MBA is a worthwhile investment. Plus, you will be challenged in your MBA program and learn.

    Lowballing, clueless or a trend?

Maybe I am the only one, however, what the job description stated is not difficult and clearly seems to be beginning to intermediate level work in web development. Nothing in that ad indicates high pay because there are no high-level expert skills.

need simple script to split a variable

Make sure you are using ksh93. I use dtksh (which uses ksh93) when using the ${var:X:y} syntax.

Unable to umount (all processes killed)

Maybe they're undocumented features :) or perhaps he has the source code and added his own options. [bigsmile] Even though I return this: #umount -l /work umount: Not a recognized flag: l Usage: umount [-sf] {-a|-n Node|-t Type|all|allr|Device|File|Directory|Filesystem} Maybe you have to run...

Unable to umount (all processes killed)

A kernel extension is loaded. fuser won't show references since they are not user processes. The genkex command will report all loaded kernel extensions.

Unable to umount (all processes killed)

Open file descriptor? Not sure exactly how an open file descriptor would effect an unmount, though. Such as when people remove a file being actively written to and then ask why the filesystem reports 100% when there are no existing files. Just tossing that one out.

No /wmsapp/logs or such filesystems under /wmsapp?

What is CEC or SPCN error

CEC - Housing that contains system processors, memory, and remote I/O connections. Ginven the definition of CEC, in ANY IBM class I have had the term CEC was never mentioned until I had an LPAR class on the Regatta.
