Hi,
I dug for quite a while and actually talked to a number of people in and out of the EMC organization. EMC pointed me to one of their partners and we talked at length on the AccessLogix issue.
The FC5300 firmware only goes up to 5.24.(either .04, or .12, I can't remember which.)...
woodenrobot,
After much trial and error on my part, I got the following working:
Directly attached FC5300 to PC and not through a switch. The FC5300 doesn't support the AccessLogix necessary to allow connection through a FC Switch.
I will look up later today on other things, but the post...
Wonderful!
As you said, I can create storage groups, and I've got the ability to create raid 1, raid 3, raid 5, and raid 1+0 groups across the chassis's in whatever config I want.
I'm looking forward to figuring out how to make this work with my servers on Monday.
Thanks again for your...
Since I am new to this system, does the ability to have storage groups mean that I've got lun masking capability, or is that something that is just available anyway.
I've got the ability to define storage groups, so I'm left wondering about that. -- of course, I believe you when you said that...
I got both FC5300's up and running today with LUN's configured. Next I get to try to talk to them with Windows Machines....
Thanks for the info, and your previous posts to others. You have been very helpful.
Thanks again.
After asking this question, I continued digging and it seems that I might be able to do the following:
I have 4 windows 2000/2003 servers, each with a single fiber HBA connected to a Brocade (compaq) SAN Switch. My Clariion's are also connected to the SAN Switch.
I want each of...
OK,
I'm somewhat confused. When I look at the docs on the Dell website, it shows the FC4700 having the SP's mounted across the bottom in an extra large chassis. All of my SP's are mounted in the left and right slots of the DAE.
The FC5300 SP Pictures look closer to what I have, but I'm still...
Hi,
I've got a donated DG Clariion Array, but am having difficulty figuring out which one it is. Does anyone know where some pictures might be to help identify it?
Specifics are:
I have 4 chassis and two SPS boxes.
Each Chassis is 3U high and on the back have what looks like a RAID Card and...
iceb,
The drivers with the errors are for Adaptec SCSI controllers. There were included when you created the boot disk with the check box "Include Adaptec ASPI drivers"
They are inconsequential to this scenario.

Sysprep does not affect the SMS GUID. You need to remove the SMS Client from the machine to be imaged prior to running Sysprep on it. Sysprep takes care of clearing up the SID problems in the registry and such.
Scott
You could also use the SMS Installer and use the "Install Files" option to install the files into the appropriate places.
This would become an executable that can be distributed as a package/advertisement.
Scott
Is it possible to recover an SMS Server that has had the system (os) drive destroyed and therefore the registry.
The SMS Database and installation were on another drive and are intact.
TIA,
Scott
If you are using the default installed connection account, SMS Manages the password on that and unless you have also reinstalled all of your clients, then they have the old password and are causing the account lockout.
The recommended solution to this problem -- before the problem happens :) is...
