Problem is my monitor powers down. Running WinXP-Pro, Dell 18" LCD, all (I think) power settings set to never, ACPI disabled. XP boots to User screen, can sit there for an hour, no problem. Any user clicked, select start program, or desktop program, monitor goes to "power save"...
Cannot boot-up to anything. Screen blank. Thought of video card, but the pavilion is all intergrated except for a modem card. Is new motherboard only choice? Have heard of these HP's somehow being locked in "sleepmode" but no solutions to "wake-up".
Boot computer monitor stays blank, goes to amber light after a few secs. Hard drive spins and then stops, cd roms will spin then stops. All indicates "sleepmode", but can't wake up. Keyboard light blinks on startup, hard drive goes amber and then out, power supply good, hard drive...
