When we were using AIX 4.3, we were able to rcp files to our backup server using "rcp -pr" and the files would retain their ownership and group permissions. Now ALL rcp'd files belong to root. Good news...the rcp works. Bad news...the spooled files listing is very confusing.
Any suggestions...
We have 2 entries. The big one is at the top. Is this a process that should be killed or left alone.
root 516 71.4 1.0 8 5972 - A Jan 30 5051:23 kproc
root 774 0.4 1.0 12 5972 - A Jan 30 31:51 kproc
I see now that all the root processes are dated Jan 30.
When running ps aux, this process seems to always head the list. What is kproc? It is still growing with an old date stamp, in spite of the fact that I rebooted the server last weekend.

4.Select Pervasive ODBC Engine Interface.
5.Enter a Data Source Name. (anything)
6.Click on Create
