hey - found the answer! got into the ACER page and downloaded the manual - to find the Power SW cord needed to be plugged into a different slot entirely - did it and it works like a charm - :) thanks anyway~!- snowcat

friend got a box shipped to him - and the pentium II, Aopen motherboard has a "loose" cable - (um, by the way - I'm a "newbie" computer geek so bear with me if I use the wrong lingo!) The skinny cords coming from the powerbutton/powerlight etc are all plugged in except one -...- snowcat
