Suggestion, leave out the : and be sure to either be in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder or include it in the path for the command copy con C:\WINDOWS\system32\config.nt.

In the Fonts folder under the File menu should be an entry Install New Font. That has to be used because simply copying a font to the Fonts folder doesn't install it. Try putting the font in another location and then installing it.

No. Once you clicked the No button when prompted to save the changes, Word got rid of anything not already saved. That's different from the document being in memory when the computer suddenly shut down from loss of power or had to be turned off when it locked up.

The Service Pack 1a for WinXP is a download, doesn't need a CD Key for installation. It's also available on CD, also does not need the CD Key.
If you have a WinXP CD that says Includes Service Pack 1, it does need the key.
