I've heard that AMD is now locking their Barton core processors on the higher mhz range....does that mean that their lower Barton Core procs are (like the 2500+) factory locked? As well, is it worth the extra money from the 2400+ to the Barton 2500+?...thanks

Have you tried old fashioned trouble shooting...starting out with the very minimum of cards, reseating everything, making sure processor installed properly, make sure the FSB is set correctly, proper memory, memory contacts clean....?

It sounds like a Hard Drive problem...had that problem with a 10 GB Western Digital when the bearing in the motor was going also I could hear a loud whining coming from inside the hard drive...you may or may not hear this from your hard drive...I didn't hear it untill it was too late!
