You can not restore an image from one hardware platform to another if the IDE controllers are dissimilar. Ghost error - 'Question (1854)'
In my experience, Ghost will not image the system drive while that system is loaded. You must start your system from a boot disk created with the Ghost Boot Wizard. Load Ghost.exe and the rest is pretty intuitive. You can also automate this process with a batch file using Ghost's command...- smatel
