    HP-UX, EMC, fibre performance problems

    A couple of things....How are you metavolumes configured??? Are the disks mirrored, striped, or concatenated? Also how much cache is in the EMC and how much raw storage? Another area to peek as is your fibre channel patches......I am seeing around 70 per sec on our frame with roughly the same...

    Sendmail for NT

    Those sound like generic Sendmail errors that occur as the result of the box not being able to connect or losing a connection in transmit. The last message, gethostbyaddr(...) failed: 11002, sounds like when it can't lookup the domain on the internet. In other words if you are sending a mail...

    Need to Recover lvol from disk w/out tape backup

    Hey, Run an lvcreate -L 200, specify the size. Do not do any formatting while you creating this!!! Then do your fsck and as long as the extents haven't changed the data should be there..... Matt Sr. Systems Administrator
